At 200 cars on the 1st of Nov. Still about 200 days to go so we may hit 300......

I’ll start this note with some very bad news. We were supposed to be a caravan of three but our beloved club president, Jeff Stevenson, passed away last week losing his valiant battle against Leukemia.

We (Jim/Kathi, David/Cyndy) are starting to plan our adventure in earnest. Jim/Kathi are leaving Springfield on Thursday, 10 May. They’ll spend one night in STL with us and we’ll head for OKC. Tentatively, Saturday night will be in Albuquerque. Now the sight seeing will begin! Cyndy wants to spend a night in the wigwam motel in Holbrook, AZ (Sunday) giving us the opportunity to visit the Petrified Forest National Monument and Meteor Crater.

Our “Must See” destination is the Grand Canyon (Monday/Tuesday) and we hope to visit Zion (Wednesday) and Bryce Canyon National Parks (Thursday) arriving at Moab on the 18th.

Our plans are not yet set in stone and may be a little aggressive -- any suggestions would be gladly considered. Of course, the more the merrier so if you want to join us, all are welcome!!

This will be our first trip to Moab and we’re really looking forward to seeing such a large group of Miata fans! We should have lots of pictures and stories when we get back to the club. Zoom Zoom
